Therapy Program

Equility Therapeutic Horsemanship provides Therapeutic Riding  and Equine Assisted Therapy to children and adults with physical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, behavioral, and even learning disabilities.  We use our highly trained, calm and friendly horses to help our clients reach their goals and form lasting relationships and friendships along the way.

Sessions range from a half hour to an hour and include grooming and building a relationship with the horse prior to riding.  By learning to use grooming tools, such as  curry combs, hard and soft brushes, and hoof picks, clients are subconsciously working on fine and gross motor skills.  Clients will have the opportunity to bond with the horse on the ground, and learn basic ground work. Our riders learn to problem solve and think critically, as well as build confidence and learn to recognize and control emotions through working with the horse.

Therapeutic Horsemanship is offered to any individual with a special need, regardless of diagnoses.  If you have a child on the spectrum, but do not have a medical diagnoses, you can still enter our Therapeutic Horsemanship Program.  We work with children and adults with developmental, social, mental, physical, and emotional conditions.  We have highly trained staff and volunteers on board to help with our Therapeutic Horsemanship Sessions.
